We just finished building a powerful new website search engine for our platform.
It is very feature-rich, easy to use, easy to manage and works better than any competitor's website search engine.

This new search engine will replace these solutions:

• EvoCloud built-in search (legacy search engine we built years ago - using the BeautifulSoup Python search application).

• Google Site Search (has advertisements in it, not ideal for a municipal search).

• Google Paid Search App - Expensive, clunky, third party website to log into, not integrated into the CMS.

• ElasticSearch - Open source enterprise search engine requiring its own cloud server to run operate. Extremely complex and expensive and not integrated well with the CMS.

• Swiftype - a basic cloud-based version of ElasticSearch that many of our large clients use. Costs $80+ monthly and isn't integrated into the CMS. No way to pull analytics per tenant easily.

New Search Engine Features:

• Predictive results as you type.

  • Shows website content and departments first, then documents (segmented results panel pops up)

  • Suppressed Terms - you can block certain search terms.

  • Weighted Searches - certain terms can be promoted

• Updated header site-wide search - a new widget has to be installed for customers to use the new search in their sites.

• Updated home page search

  • All new search-centric design for home pages

  • Auto-complete with segmented results

  • AUTOMATIC Top searches chips are displayed and are updated daily.

  • Search chips can be created and pinned to the home page.

• Analytics

  • See what visitors are searching, with reporting.
